The 1-piece machined aluminum frame and sideplate allow for precise bearing and gear alignment, less frame flex, and more power overall. Additionally, there is also a machined aluminum spool that does not bend under high drag pressure or outwardly expand as you tightly wind on line. The Automatic Tournament Drag (ATD) is an impressive new technology that uses enhanced drag grease that has low viscosity at rest, but immediately becomes more viscous after drag start-up. This allows for diminished initial drag start-up inertia resulting in a smoother drag from the initial hook-up and more consistent overall performance throughout the fish fight.
Daiwa's 6 CRBB corrosion-resistant stainless steel ball bearings are made with specially treated steel that acts as a protective shield against sand, salt, and grit to extend reel life, reliability, and overall performance. The reel also boasts a massive gearbox with large stainless steel DigiGears that are digitally designed and cut for extreme precision and impressive power.
