The Daiwa Saltist MQ® Spinning Reels are a new series of heavy-action saltwater reels made with a one-piece Monocoque (MQ) body. The primary feature of the Saltist MQ is the Monocoque body system, which does not require a body cover, instead, it uses an engine plate to screw directly to the body. Eliminating the need for screws to hold a body cover in place greatly improves the strength of the reel, bolsters the reel's water resistance, and allows a larger diameter drive gear to be installed. These reels also feature a proprietary Magsealed main shaft and Zaion Air Rotor for long-lasting smoothness and performance.
